New to OpenInsight release 7.2 and above is the Character to OpenInsight (CTO) interface. With this new set of features you will be able to take a virtual ACCOUNT-SAVE of your existing application and restore the  account as an application within OpenInsight. Data files will be created, dictionaries will be converted, character-based programs will run "as is" under a VT100 emulation. As with any conversion some modifications to dictionaries and programs may be required. You can continue to run your business, utilizing the same programs that your users are familiar with and convert, at your leisure, to a Windows GUI application.

OpenInsight's  U2 Connect, connects IBM's UniVerse or Unidata database files for use with Openisight's development tools. Unlike CTO where the files are converted to OpenInsight's filing system, U2 Connect stores the information about the files and allows access as if they were OpenInsight files. Almost everything that OpenIsight can perform on it's own filing system can be performed on the U2 databases.

Expected to be released with the OpenInsight 8.0 is the new Arev32 interface. You will be able to create and run Advanced Revelation applications in a console application powered by OpenInsight. Because Arev32 runs within OpenInsight your Advanced Revelation application is no longer dependent upon MS-DOS.
